Point2 Technology CEO Park Jin-ho said on the 10th that he received the prime minister's commendation at the "2025 Korea Tech Festival" held at COEX in Seoul on the 3rd.
The Korea Tech Festival, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, is the country's largest technology event that highlights research and development (R&D) achievements and best cases of technology commercialization. Winners are selected by focusing on field applicability and contributions to industry.
Point2 Technology was highly rated for its ability to remove bottlenecks that occur in large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) computing environments. The "Accelerating AI Interconnect" solution improves data transfer speeds between high-performance computing devices, reducing communication latency during AI training and inference.
In conventional AI computing architectures, performance drops when surging workloads cause delays, but the solution delivers ultra-low-latency, high-bandwidth communication and is credited with improving real-world data center efficiency by 20%–40%.
Its technology to improve data delivery quality also drew praise. It supports long-haul optical communication of more than 40 km at low power, reducing transmission limits that used to occur at the edge of networks.
Data delivery efficiency between central data centers and field sites increases, and the operational foundation for high-performance, field-deployed AI services demanded by multiple industries, including manufacturing, logistics, and distribution, is strengthened. Even when the system is scaled out, it can transition without interruptions, making it highly usable in real industrial settings.
Point2 Technology is credited with securing capabilities that span the entire AI infrastructure, from optimizing large-scale AI computing in upper layers of data centers to implementing ultra-low-latency AI in the field. The fact that its performance has been verified in commercial environments contributed to the award.
