Hyundai Motor Group's 200 kW electric vehicle charger has obtained the EV-Q certification for the first time. EV-Q is a private electric vehicle charging quality certification system jointly developed last year by Hyundai Motor Group and the Korea Testing Certification Institute (KTC), an internationally accredited testing agency, targeting all domestic charger manufacturers and charging operators.
Hyundai Motor Group said on the 9th that the "200 kW dual-arm E-pit charger," developed and produced by Hyundai Kefico and applied to Hyundai Motor Group's ultra-fast charging brand E-pit, has obtained EV-Q certification.
Designed to aim for qualitative growth in the domestic EV market, this certification standardizes five core quality items for EV chargers—durability and reliability, actual charging performance, security, communication conformity, and electromagnetic compatibility—to enable focused evaluation.
By introducing EV-Q certified chargers, charging operators can secure higher quality competitiveness, including increased operational safety through reduced charger failure rates, interoperability by verifying communication protocols between vehicles and chargers, enhanced security by blocking unauthorized access such as hacking, and confirmation of electromagnetic emissions.
In particular, by resolving key quality issues that frequently occur in the field—such as charging interruptions, communication errors, and security vulnerabilities—the reliability of chargers can be further strengthened.
Hyundai Motor Group plans to sequentially install the 200 kW dual-arm E-pit charger nationwide, starting with Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang.
A Hyundai Motor Group official said, "By expanding the adoption of EV-Q certification to EV chargers installed by Hyundai Motor Group, we will build a charging environment where quantitative and qualitative growth are in harmony."
