SKC named three investment company heads and appointed one new executive as part of its 2026 regular executive reshuffle on the 4th. The reshuffle focused on streamlining the organizational structure and strategically redeploying leadership.
With this reorganization, President Kim Jong-u, SKC chief executive officer (CEO), will concurrently serve as head of SK Nexilis. Kim plans to take the lead in strengthening competitiveness in the secondary battery materials business and focus on delivering results in core operations.
To accelerate improvements in financial soundness and business structure, Park Dong-ju was newly appointed as SKC chief financial officer (CFO). Park, an expert who has carried out key financial strategies at SK Inc., is set to focus on strengthening SKC's fundamentals. Park will also concurrently serve as SK Nexilis CFO.
Kang Ji-ho, who has on-site practical experience and research and development capabilities, was appointed the new head of Absolix. Kang is an expert who accumulated 15 years of semiconductor industry technology and operations experience at Intel and later handled C&C (cleaning and CMP process) technology at SK hynix. The plan is to focus on securing momentum for the glass substrate business, a core future growth engine.
An SKC official said, "With this organizational overhaul and executive appointments, we have established a system that can respond swiftly to the changing market environment," and added, "We will continue efforts to improve our structure for sustainable growth."
