GS Group on the 3rd donated 4 billion won in "year-end sharing with neighbors" funds to the Community Chest of Korea. The funds delivered that day are to be used for neighbors who are economically struggling and marginalized.
GS has donated year-end sharing with neighbors funds to the Community Chest of Korea since 2005 to help vulnerable groups, and the total entrusted through this year is 80 billion won.
Huh Tae-soo, GS chairman, has said, "To become an excellent and sustainable company, we must not only contribute to national economic development but also practice a variety of activities for social contribution and shared growth, based on fair and transparent management," and "for our society to become warmer and happier, attention and participation from all of society are needed, and corporations should take the lead in their social role through sharing."
A GS official said, "As the year-end approaches, GS will work together to put sharing with neighbors into practice through giving for those in need," adding, "we will continue relentless social sharing activities so that neighbors in need can live with hope by leveraging the capabilities and expertise of GS affiliates."
