HD Hyundai XiteSolution said on the 2nd that Moon Jae-young, president of HD Construction Equipment, the integrated corporation of the HD Hyundai institutional sector construction equipment division, took office as the 16th chairman of the Korea Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association at the "21st Construction Equipment Day" event held on the 1st at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi.
Moon joined Hyundai Heavy Industries in 1994 and has served as head of sales (senior executive vice president) at HD Hyundai Construction Equipment and head of the construction equipment business division (executive vice president) at HD Hyundai Infracore. He has been designated to become CEO (president) of the integrated corporation HD Construction Equipment, which will launch in January next year through the merger of HD Hyundai Construction Equipment and HD Hyundai Infracore.
In his inaugural address that day, Moon said, "Korea, as the world's No. 6 construction equipment manufacturing powerhouse, has sufficient capabilities for both technology and products to reach overseas," and added, "We will secure future construction equipment technologies that will change the paradigm of manufacturing, and further strengthen the manufacturing competitiveness of small and medium-sized parts businesses to do our utmost to support domestic corporations' overseas expansion and export growth."
