0→100km/h 2.8 seconds. The fastest production AMG ever, "the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E performance," has been launched in the domestic market. The price is 278.6 million won. (reflecting the reduced special consumption tax and including VAT).
According to Mercedes-Benz Korea Co., Ltd., which recently released the model, "the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E performance" boasts the most powerful performance among second-generation Mercedes-AMG GTs. That is thanks to increased output from its hybrid system.
The "Mercedes-AMG GT" is a model that combines performance that captures the essence of a sports car with a stylish design.
Mercedes-Benz Korea introduced the high-performance plug-in hybrid model "GT 63 S E performance" following the May launch of the "GT 55 4MATIC+." As the top model of the second-generation GT series, the "GT 63 S E performance" delivers an overwhelming driving experience with innovative hybrid technology inspired by the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 team.
It is equipped with AMGOne Man One Engine principle-applied 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, an AMG high-performance battery based on Formula 1TM technology, and a P3 hybrid system composed of an electric motor, producing a system maximum output of 816hp and maximum torque of 1420Nm, the most powerful performance among second-generation GTs.
It accelerates from rest to 100km/h in just 2.8 seconds, boasting the fastest acceleration among all production AMG vehicles, and has a top speed of 320km/h.
The electric drive unit, with an output of 150kW (204 hp), integrates the electric motor and a mechanical rear axle limited-slip differential. It is mounted independently on the rear axle to deliver power immediately to the rear wheels and optimizes weight distribution to provide the foundation for excellent driving performance.
"The new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E performance" is equipped with an AMG high-performance battery featuring a new direct cooling system based on racing car technology from the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1TM team. The lithium-ion battery system, which cools 560 cells individually, provides high performance even under continuous use, improving the vehicle's overall performance.
AMG active ride control suspension is standard, reducing roll for comfortable driving and enabling precise steering during cornering. In addition, rear axle steering that turns up to 2.5° is standard, helping agile and stable driving.
AMG dynamic select adjusts key elements such as driving and shift response, steering characteristics, chassis damping or sound to offer eight driving programs ranging from efficient to dynamic driving, including "electric," "battery hold," "comfort," "snow/wet," "sport," "sport+," "race," and "individual." In addition, drivers can choose four levels of regenerative braking in driving programs such as "comfort" and "sport."
Fitting its extreme performance, the vehicle is equipped with an AMG high-performance ceramic brake system. It features bronze-colored six-piston fixed calipers at the front and one-piston floating calipers at the rear, providing short braking distances and high stability even during demanding driving.
"The new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E performance" features a long hood, pronounced power dome and a solidly balanced silhouette, with visual cues indicating its status as a high-performance hybrid model throughout. The model name highlighted in red and the "E performance" badge on the side stand out, and twin trapezoidal tailpipes sit at the lower rear. Manufaktur 21-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels come standard, adding to its sporty appeal.
A fixed rear spoiler wing in gloss black and aerodynamic elements such as flics mounted on the front and rear bumpers are standard in the AMG aero-dynamic package, enhancing the sporty impression and improving front and rear downforce. The front axle lift system can raise the front by up to 30mm when needed, helping to reduce front bumper damage on speed bumps and steep underground parking entrances.
The interior's foldable 2+2 seats and a trunk that can be expanded up to 562 liters enhance space efficiency, making it suitable as a daily driver. AMG performance seats provide excellent support during dynamic driving with pronounced side bolsters and integrated headrests. The energizing package and multi-contour seat package offer comfort even on long drives.
AMG track pace, which records and analyzes vehicle speed, steering angle, acceleration and braking to help improve track driving skills, and the Driving Assistance Package, which enhances driver convenience, are installed. Options favored by domestic customers are provided as standard, including an AMG performance steering wheel in nappa leather, a panoramic roof, a head-up display, the Burmester surround sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Third-generation MBUX is installed, allowing enjoyment of various third-party applications at home and abroad, from YouTube, Disney+, Spotify, Webex, Zoom to Essentail, FLO, Wavve and Melon. "T map Auto," custom-designed for the third-generation MBUX infotainment system, is also installed, enabling use of the connected head-up display and augmented reality navigation.
