Seoul Business Agency said on the 27th it will push an "ESG open testbed project" that applies promising technologies in the energy and environment sector to real-world sites for verification, in partnership with Seoul Energy Corporation. It has signed demonstration agreements with three innovative companies—Kachap High Care Korea, For Natures, and Nano Origin—and will begin full-scale demonstrations.
The demonstration selected three technologies in total: ▲ the nation's first hydrogen vehicle charging reservation, payment, and integrated operation management service (Kachap High Care Korea) ▲ microalgae-based biological carbon capture technology (For Natures) ▲ photocatalytic nano-coating technology to improve solar module efficiency (Nano Origin).
The selected technologies will be applied to energy infrastructure owned by Seoul Energy Corporation to comprehensively verify performance and cost-effectiveness under real climate and environmental conditions. Seoul Business Agency plans to lead the spread of technology based on public-private cooperation by linking support programs for the growth of demonstration companies, along with planning and managing the entire demonstration process.
The demonstration will run for about five months from November this year to March next year. After it ends, based on the performance evaluation, "demonstration confirmation certificates" will be issued to outstanding corporations, and Seoul Business Agency plans to continue supporting technology diffusion and follow-up business connections by leveraging its promotional platforms and corporate network.
Kim Hyeon-u, head of Seoul Business Agency, said, "For technology companies, securing opportunities for on-site verification is the most important starting point for commercialization," and added, "Seoul Business Agency will expand an open demonstration ecosystem through public-private cooperation to actively support innovative companies' technological leaps and market entry."
Meanwhile, Seoul Business Agency and Seoul Energy Corporation plan to jointly promote a new testbed project next year as well. In addition to providing demonstration opportunities, they will further strengthen a customized support system for corporations, including expert consulting and links to research and certification institutions, to continuously support the stable growth of Start - Up in the energy and environment sector.
