CJ Logistics said on the 27th that it signed a logistics partnership with CP AXTRA.
Through the agreement, the two companies agreed to cooperate to enhance supply chain competitiveness based on their operational capabilities and technology in distribution and logistics.
CJ Logistics has begun operating a 67,000-square-meter logistics center in Wang Noi, Ayutthaya Province, Thailand, under the partnership.
They decided to expand the logistics center operation to 164,000 square meters in the future and, through this, plan to serve as a logistics hub for the CP AXTRA brand.
CP AXTRA operates the nationwide wholesale and retail brands Makro and Lotus's.
CJ Logistics plans to handle fresh and cold-chain products such as vegetables, fruit, food ingredients, meat, and seafood supplied to those stores.
The two companies also plan to strengthen cooperation in fulfillment. As CP AXTRA's e-commerce business shows growth, the need for specialized fulfillment services tailored to e-commerce logistics—such as storage, inventory management, and packaging—has grown.
After CJ Logistics stabilizes the macro wholesale logistics for CP AXTRA, it plans to pursue cooperation in logistics for retail stores and in transport logistics that move goods in bulk among key hubs such as warehouses and stores.
CJ Logistics also plans to jointly promote the development of advanced logistics IT systems with CP AXTRA.
The goal is to develop a new warehouse management system (WMS) and an integrated total control tower (TCT) tailored to CP AXTRA's nationwide distribution network in Thailand to provide customers with a predictable supply chain.
Shin Young-soo of CJ Logistics said, "The partnership with CP AXTRA, Thailand's largest distribution company, is a turning point where the global competitiveness of K logistics begins to expand in earnest," adding, "We will further strengthen our position as a core global logistics partner."
