Samsung SDI on the 25th carried out its 2026 regular executive appointments for vice presidents and senior executives, promoting a total of eight people, including three vice presidents and five senior executives.
The appointments focused on elevating figures who contributed to strengthening battery market dominance and securing differentiated future technologies in preparation for a super boom amid an uncertain business environment.
Kim Gi-jun, head of the large-and-medium-sized business division's electrode plate center (vice president), contributed to strengthening technological competitiveness by securing mass-producibility of electrode plates, developing new processes, and ensuring consistency in electrode plate production across sites.
Lee Jong-hun, head of the small-sized business division's pouch development team (vice president), led the on-time launch of key flagship products, helping secure technological leadership and product competitiveness.
Jeong Hyeon, head of the management diagnosis team (vice president), helped secure business competitiveness by strengthening operational efficiency and business fundamentals through management diagnosis and improvements to unreasonable processes.
Through these 2026 regular executive appointments, Samsung SDI has completed its top management reshuffle and plans to finalize an organizational restructuring and position appointments soon.
