Park Sang-kyu, the 17th chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises (KBIZ), died on the 24th at age 89.
The former chairman Park began as president of Hanil Nonferrous Metals in 1972 and later served as CEO of Hanbo Metal Industry and chairman of the Korea Nonferrous Metal Industry Cooperative Federation.
From 1992 to 1995, Park served as the 17th chairman of KBIZ and worked to protect the rights of small and medium-sized enterprises and strengthen their competitiveness.
Park also entered politics and served as a lawmaker in the 15th and 16th National Assemblies.
The funeral hall has been set up in Room 2 at the Samsung Medical Center funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Kim Jae-jun, and their children, Park Jong-ho, Park Jong-hyeok and Park Hyun-jung.
