Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) said on the 23rd that it signed a memorandum of understanding for technology cooperation in AI with the Indian Institute of Technology TIF on the 21st (local time) at the ICT Hotel in New Delhi, India.
India is pursuing a range of policies centered on the government-led AI development policy "India AI Mission," including expanding AI infrastructure, opening public data, and cultivating AI talent, and is emerging as a rising AI powerhouse based on its pool of technical talent.
Through this agreement, KOSME plans to jointly identify AI-based cooperation models that support the overseas expansion of corporations in Korea's key industrial sectors, such as manufacturing, logistics, and energy, by leveraging the excellent research capabilities and technology infrastructure of the Indian Institute of Technology TIF.
At the AI forum held immediately after the signing ceremony, about 50 people, including India government official such as the MeitY Startup Hub under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, local Start - Up, research institutes, and investors, shared the latest policies and market trends in India's AI industry and discussed ways to use AI by industry.
Kang Seok-jin, chair of KOSME, said, "AI is a core technology leading new industries amid changes in the global industrial structure," and added, "Through this cooperation with the Indian Institute of Technology TIF, we will actively support domestic small and medium startups in securing global technological competitiveness and creating new added value using AI."
KOSME also held a proclamation ceremony for "Korea SMEs Day" on the 21st. Korea SMEs Day is an official event organized by KOSME to commemorate cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises in Korea and India and to expand public-private networks. KOSME plans to expand a global cooperation network based on AI and digital technologies centered on key overseas hubs, and to actively support small and medium-sized enterprises in entering local markets and enhancing their technological competitiveness.
