Used-car platform K Car said on the 20th that recent used prices for major popular imported models have fallen by up to nearly 15% compared with the start of the year. It noted that if you are considering buying a used car, now is a good time.
According to K Car, prices for the BMW 3 Series G20 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class W206 models are down 4.2% and 5.8%, respectively, from January this year. The BMW 5 Series G60 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class W214 fell 9.5% and 13.3%, respectively.
In addition, the declines included: ▲ Mercedes-Benz E220d 4MATIC Exclusive -14.9% ▲ BMW 523d -14.7% ▲ Mercedes-Benz E300 4MATIC Exclusive -13.1% ▲ BMW 530i xDrive -12.3% ▲ Mercedes-Benz E200 Avantgarde -11.9% ▲ Mercedes-Benz C200 -10.7%.
K Car said, "At year-end, natural depreciation occurs over time, and additional depreciation of existing used cars due to model year changes or new model launches, as well as discounts on inventory vehicles, are reflected in prices," adding, "Because new-car sellers also run discount promotions, lower new-car purchase prices likewise lead to declines in used-car prices."
It added, "In the year-end used-car market, several price-cut factors are priced in early, making economical purchases possible," and said, "Considering that various promotions are underway, year-end is advantageous for buying a vehicle."
