Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. (KHNP) said on the 17th that it will officially open the corporations public relations center "SSNC (SMR Smart Net zero City)" inside Gyeongju Expo Grand Park starting on the 18th.
SSNC is short for "SMR (Small Modular Reactor) Smart Net zero City," and is a space that reflects KHNP's vision using SMR, a next-generation nuclear technology, and renewable energy. Under KHNP's vision, "carbon-neutral clean energy leader," visitors can experience through immersive video a future energy ecosystem in which diverse energy sources, including SMR and renewable energy, circulate in harmony.
The exhibition space consists of five zones: Energy Loop, which captures the journey of human history and energy; Energy Foundation, which looks at large-scale nuclear power technology; Energy Harmony - SMR, which introduces the latest SMR technology; Energy Panorama - SSNC, which presents KHNP's sustainable future through a 360-degree panoramic screen and an ultra-large city model; and Energy Beyond - H2, which exhibits artworks inspired by hydrogen, a new energy source.
A KHNP official said, "The SSNC PR center is a symbolic space for sharing KHNP's vision and efforts toward a carbon-neutral society with the public," adding, "We will continue our sustainable energy journey together with future generations."
KHNP's corporations public relations center SSNC operates from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and group visits are available by advance reservation.
