S-Oil received the Order of Industrial Service Merit, Gold Tower, from the government.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI) said on the 13th that, to mark "Foreign Company Day 2025," it presented commendations to a total of 40 contributors. Representing S-Oil, Korea's largest foreign-invested corporations, Chief Executive Officer Anwar Al-Hejazi received the Order of Industrial Service Merit, Gold Tower. S-Oil was recognized mainly for the Shaheen Project, into which about 9.3 trillion won was invested, and for integrating refining and petrochemical facilities.
Noh Sung, executive vice president of onsemi Korea, a Power Semiconductor and silicon carbide (SiC) corporations, was named for the Order of Industrial Service Merit, Silver Tower. Many of the other awardees achieved merits in attracting foreign investment in advanced industries such as semiconductors and secondary batteries.
Minister Kim Jung-kwan of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI) said, "Foreign investment has played an important role in the development of the Korean economy," and added, "Going forward, we will continue to make tireless efforts to create a reliable and attractive investment environment so that corporations can conduct successful business through steady investment in Korea."
At the event, in addition to honoring contributors, a panel discussion was held to share successful cases of foreign investment and to seek ways to expand foreign investment amid the reorganization of global supply chains. The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI) plans to promote policies to strengthen industrial competitiveness and revitalize foreign investment, and to improve the foreign investment environment by reflecting the voices from the field raised by corporations.
