Honda Korea (CEO Lee Ji-hong) on Nov. 13 launched the 2026 mid-cycle refreshed model of the CR-V hybrid, the global best-selling SUV that has set the standard in the SUV market for 30 years, in Korea.
CR-V is a model representing Honda's SUV lineup and was developed to propose an enjoyable and abundant lifestyle in everyday life. First introduced in 1995, it pioneered a new genre called the 'urban SUV' and has since recorded more than 15 million units in cumulative global sales over 30 years across more than 150 countries, establishing itself as a global best-selling SUV.
The sixth-generation CR-V hybrid, introduced in Korea in 2023, set a new standard for hybrid SUVs in every respect with Honda's proprietary new 2-motor hybrid system, offering powerful driving performance, outstanding fuel efficiency, space utility and convenience, and safety performance. The newly launched 2026 new CR-V hybrid is a mid-cycle refreshed model of the sixth generation that upgrades user-centered safety and convenience features based on customer needs and strengthens its marketability.
As safety features, Honda SENSING newly adds Blind Spot Information (BSI) and Cross Traffic Monitor (CTM) functions. Existing Honda SENSING features such as adaptive cruise control (ACC), lane keeping assist system (LKAS), traffic jam assist (TJA), and low speed brake control (LSBC), which detects obstacles in front of and behind the vehicle at low speeds and controls drive force, remain the same. In addition, it boasts class-leading safety with Honda's proprietary advanced compatibility engineering (ACE™) body structure and an advanced 10-airbag system including rear side airbags and front knee airbags.
The interior creates a sophisticated atmosphere that upgrades the mood of an urban SUV by applying new seat colors in light gray and black two-tone and orange stitch details. In addition, user convenience is enhanced by adding heated side mirrors and second-row seat heating, and a new tonneau cover increases storage convenience and space utility when loading luggage.
The powertrain is equipped with the same 2.0L direct-injection Atkinson engine paired with an E-CVT and the fourth-generation 2-motor hybrid system. The motor's maximum output is 184 hp and maximum torque is 34 kg·m, and the engine's maximum output is 147 hp and maximum torque is 18.6 kgm, with the engine assisting the motor to deliver powerful driving performance. In particular, it realizes strong output and torque across all ranges as well as excellent environmental performance, providing intuitive and overwhelming acceleration. It offers excellent ride comfort from initial acceleration to high-speed driving and enhanced steering response for a more integrated handling feel. A lock-up high-gear clutch that improves quietness during high-speed cruising and a lock-up low-gear clutch that contributes to towing capability and improved urban fuel efficiency are also applied.
Class-leading space utility is another strength that differentiates the CR-V hybrid. Through overwhelming packaging technology that maximizes interior and cargo space, it achieves a spacious second-row legroom and cargo space that expands up to 2,166L, providing a roomy and comfortable environment for camping, car camping and family trips with lots of luggage.
Honda Korea CEO Lee Ji-hong said, CR-V is an 'all-rounder SUV' that has run with customers for 30 years based on Honda's technology and trust, and added, I hope you can experience the joy and happiness of having a companion in daily life anytime, anywhere through the renewed new CR-V hybrid.
