Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) said on the 12th that it will hold the first HRD future strategy forum for small and medium-sized enterprises at the Peace & Park Convention in Seoul and officially launch the advisory committee for training manufacturing artificial intelligence (AI) specialists for small and medium-sized venture corporations.
The forum was prepared to share ways to establish HRD strategies for small and medium-sized venture corporations needed in the AI era. About 150 people, including CEOs of small and medium-sized venture corporations and manufacturing AI experts, attended the event.
On the day, the Minister of SMEs and Startups award and the KOSME chairperson's award were each presented to outstanding corporations that contributed to improving employees' job competencies. Hwashin Bolt Industry, which received the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) Minister award, took part in KOSME training center programs and pushed ahead with smart factory advancement and AI-based production innovation. It was highly rated for delivering results such as improved productivity and enhanced quality competitiveness.
Seoul National University Professor Lee Jeong-dong also gave a special lecture on the theme of strategies to transform into a technology corporation in the AI era. Lee presented AI leadership needed for on-site management and ways to establish future management strategies.
The advisory committee for training manufacturing AI specialists for small and medium-sized venture corporations, launched on the day, will advise across support programs such as setting the direction of AI curricula and strategies for course operation so KOSME can back the digital transition on manufacturing floors. Commissioners were formed from experts in industry, academia and public institutions.
Kang Seok-jin, KOSME chairperson, said, "The AI transition is not simply about adopting technology, but about changing an organization's operating system," adding, "KOSME will support efforts to raise the competitiveness of small and medium-sized venture corporations by training manufacturing AI specialists."
