LS ELECTRIC said on the 10th it signed a contract to supply high- and low-voltage switchgear and transformers to power an AI data center for a North American AI big tech corporations, worth $91.9 million (about 132.9 billion won).
The project supplies power equipment to an AI data center in Tennessee, United States. LS ELECTRIC plans to supply switchgear and transformers for the electrical rooms of server rooms prepared for AI Machine Learning and for the data center's mechanical facilities by Apr. next year.
The customer and LS ELECTRIC previously signed power equipment supply contracts totaling 310 billion won from late last year to early this year.
An LS ELECTRIC official said, "This contract is significant in that our company will, for the first time in the United States, supply in one package the power equipment required for a hyperscale data center, from low voltage to high voltage," and added, "We are receiving inquiries about long-term supply contracts from several customers in North America who are experiencing disruptions in their power supply plans."
