KG Mobility (hereafter KGM) accelerated its push into export markets by holding new product launch events for models such as the Torres hybrid (hereafter Torres HEV) and Musso EV in individual countries following a large-scale global launch in the German market.
At the Torres HEV launch event held on the 5th local time at the HaGan B'Shfayim event hall in Shefayim near Tel Aviv, Israel, about 40 people attended, including KGM Head of Overseas Business Lee Byung-gil and members of the Israeli press corps.
This event was a country-specific launch following the Musso EV and Torres HEV launches held in September in Germany, which invited dealers and press from a total of 38 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Latin America including Spain, the U.K. and Türkiye. The event proceeded with product presentations so attendees could directly experience Torres HEV's differentiated strengths such as performance and fuel efficiency, followed by test drives.
Because demand for eco-friendly vehicles such as electric vehicles is increasing in the Israeli auto market due to eco-energy policies, high oil prices and higher acquisition taxes on internal combustion engine vehicles, KGM plans to increase sales volume through this launch.
Also, at a launch on the 26th of last month (local time) at the Cevahir Hotel Istanbul Asia on the eastern shore of Istanbul, Türkiye, about 120 people including KGM Head of Business Kwon Gyo-won, dealers and the press attended for the Musso EV launch and test drives.
Türkiye is a major export market for KGM: last year KGM sold a total of 11,870 units there, recording growth of more than fivefold compared with 2023 (2,217 units), and was honored as the fastest growing brand (Fastest Growing Light Commercial Vehicle Brand and Car Brand).
Meanwhile, as of cumulative shipments through October, KGM exported a total of 57,436 units, showing an 18% increase over last year (48,691 units), which was the highest sales in 10 years.
By model, sales have continued to rise as eco-friendly vehicles such as the Musso EV and Torres HEV, which began global launch in September, increase. Eco-friendly vehicles — Musso EV (783 units), Torres HEV (603 units), Actyon HEV (342 units) and Torres EVX (224 units) — totaled 1,952 units in October, accounting for 32.6% of total exports (5,980 units).
A KGM official said, "Dealers and the press who attended this launch expressed great satisfaction with the Musso EV's economy and the pickup's versatility, as well as the Torres HEV's excellent fuel efficiency and stable ride," and added, "With exports recording their highest performance in 11 years, we will increase sales by expanding country-specific new product launches and pursuing aggressive export market strategies through active cooperation with overseas dealers, including differentiated marketing strategies."
