Mercedes-Benz Korea will update MBUX to the third generation. It will perform an OTA (Over-the-Air) update for the 11th-generation E-Class, CLE, 2025 GLC and C-Class, among others. MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) refers to Mercedes-Benz's in-vehicle infotainment system.
This update strengthens entertainment and lifestyle content. With the addition of Disney+, Spotify and RideVu, it builds a portfolio of 21 apps and, for the first time among domestic automakers, will provide real-time flight information guidance for Incheon International Airport.
Major services provided include global entertainment applications offered at headquarters level, and Korea-specific services newly developed by the Mercedes-Benz R&D Korea center for the convenience of Korean customers, such as real-time flight information for Incheon International Airport and destination business-hours alerts.
Models targeted for the update are the 11th-generation E-Class, CLE, 2025 GLC and C-Class equipped with third-generation MBUX, and updates began rolling out from the end of October. Also, 2026-model E-Class, GLC, C-Class, SL and GT models are expected to be delivered with the third-generation MBUX software update already completed.
Kim Eun, vice president of products and sales at Mercedes-Benz Korea, said, "This update was carried out to make the time customers spend inside the vehicle more enjoyable and fulfilling by providing Mercedes-Benz's differentiated digital experience," and added, "Mercedes-Benz Korea will continue to introduce new applications and services that reflect the experiences customers want, expanding the scope of in-vehicle experiences."
First, the global entertainment platform Disney+, Sony Pictures Entertainment's RideVu, and the world's largest music platform Spotify applications were added, strengthening in-vehicle entertainment functions such as music and movie streaming. With this, Mercedes-Benz Korea offers a total of 21 domestic and international applications on third-generation MBUX, allowing customers to enjoy a variety of lifestyles in the vehicle from business to entertainment.
Also, this OTA update provides the 'Incheon International Airport real-time flight information' and 'business-hours alert' services to customers who have T map Auto navigation installed.
'Incheon International Airport real-time flight information' is an in-vehicle navigation-linked service developed by the Mercedes-Benz R&D Korea center, the first of its kind in the domestic finished-vehicle industry. When the driver selects an Incheon Airport terminal (T1 or T2) on the vehicle's central display, they can view key flight information at a glance, such as the airline, flight number, destination, and scheduled departure and arrival times. In addition, major changes to a selected flight—such as time changes, cancellations, and parking lot status—are provided via real-time screen notifications and voice guidance, and the most convenient departure gate or parking location is recommended.
The service provides guidance on travel time to the airport reflecting the vehicle's current location and traffic conditions. Following the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's push to open digital services, it uses information provided by the Incheon International Airport Corporation's 'Incheon International Airport map service' to calculate expected passage times through check-in counters, security screening and duty-free areas based on internal airport congestion, and on that basis informs users of the travel time from airport arrival to the boarding gate. It also compares this to the flight's scheduled departure time to provide passengers with the expected buffer time.
'Business-hours alert' is a service that, during route guidance, notifies the driver in advance of the break and closing times of a business set as the destination. By comparing the estimated arrival time with the destination's business hours, it informs the driver whether the destination will be closed by the expected arrival time or is about to close.
In addition, on vehicles equipped with the MBUX Superscreen, required applications can be downloaded to the central display and separately to the passenger-seat display through the Mercedes-Benz Store, and various features have been added, such as setting the passenger-seat display background image to a desired picture.
Mercedes-Benz Korea has continuously provided navigation-based, lifestyle-tailored digital services closely linked to the daily lives of domestic customers, such as the 'mask map' service that guided public mask sales locations and stock status during the 2020 COVID-19 outbreak, and the 'cherry blossom attraction information' service provided every spring outing season.
