Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) said on the 7th that it held an "export small-giant companies capacity-building and communication workshop" with the Korea Global CEO Association at the KOSME Chungcheong Training Center in Cheonan, South Chungcheong, on the 6th.
The workshop was prepared to strengthen technological capabilities such as AI and digital transformation and to respond to changes in the trade environment, including the recent U.S. reciprocal tariff.
About 90 people attended the event, including KOSME Chair Kang Seok-jin, Global Growth Director Park Jang-hyeok, regional headquarters chiefs, Korea Global CEO Association President Seo Dong-man, and heads of export small-giant companies.
The main programs were: ▲ a seminar by economist Professor Kwak Soo-jong on "global economic issues and SME response strategies" ▲ a special lecture focused on AI adoption strategies and SME use cases ▲ a briefing session on major KOSME support programs. This was followed by a venue for communication to strengthen mutual exchange and cooperation between KOSME and export small-giant companies.
In particular, the workshop is expected to strengthen joint response capabilities by sharing market information such as trade issues through reinforced networks among export small-giant companies and by exchanging experiences on responses to AI and digital transformation.
President Seo Dong-man said, "This workshop was a meaningful opportunity to obtain information on changes in the global environment faced by export SMEs and to seek practical response measures," adding, "the association will continue to work closely with KOSME to actively support strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs."
Chair Kang Seok-jin said, "In a rapidly changing global market environment, SMEs should seize new challenges such as AI and ESG as opportunities to strengthen competitiveness," adding, "KOSME will listen closely to on-site opinions and expand practical support in various areas, including policy funds, exports, and ESG."
