Megabox posted revenue of 78.4 billion won in the third quarter of this year, up 4.3% from the same period last year.
Contentree JoongAng disclosed on the 6th that Megabox, which it operates, recorded 1.9 billion won in operating profit in the third quarter of this year. The 1.9 billion won in operating profit was up 219.1% from the same period last year.
Both revenue and operating profit expanded on the back of hit releases and increased product sales. In particular, the average ticket price (ATP) in the third quarter was 10,813 won and the average concession revenue (CPP) was 4,165 won, each improving 11% from a year earlier.
Megabox said it was "due to the strong performance of Hollywood films and animations with a high share of screenings in special-format auditoriums," adding that "live performance content expansion such as 'Frankenstein' and strong sales of 'Demon Slayer' goods and promotional products contributed."
