Sehwa Arts and Culture Foundation, operated by Taekwang Group, said on the 7th that its board met and appointed former Taekwang Group Chairman Lee Ho-jin as the fifth chair. The chair is an unpaid, nonstanding position with a two-year term.
Sehwa Arts and Culture Foundation is a nonprofit corporation established in 2009 by Lee Sun-ae, the spouse of the late founder of Taekwang Group, Chairman Lee Im-yong.
The foundation operates Sehwa Museum of Art, located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Heungkuk Life Building in Gwanghwamun, Seoul. It conducts projects such as hosting domestic and international art exhibitions and cultural exchange shows, supporting artists' creative activities, and operating cultural and arts education venues.
Chair Lee graduated from the economics department at Seoul National University, earned an MBA from Cornell University in the United States, and completed a doctoral program in economics at New York University. Lee currently serves as an advisor to Taekwang Industrial and as chair of the Ilju Sehwa Academy (Sehwa High School, Sehwa Girls' High School, Sehwa Girls' Middle School) educational foundation.
