Hyundai Motor said on the 3rd that it sold 351,753 vehicles in the global market last month, down 6.9% from a year earlier. During the same period, domestic sales (53,822 units) fell 17.1%, and overseas sales (297,931 units) fell 4.8%.
A Hyundai Motor official said, "Last month, sales decreased due to fewer business days during the Chuseok holiday," and added, "We plan to continue to expand sales through a strategy of increasing the share of eco-friendly vehicles and strengthening the hybrid (HEV) lineup."
By model, last month Hyundai Motor sold 16,058 sedans in the domestic market. They sold 5,074 Grandeurs, 4,603 Sonatas, and 6,014 Avantes. For recreational vehicles (RV), they sold a total of 20,010 units, including 3,829 Palisades, 4,861 Santa Fes, 3,909 Tucsons, 2,951 Konas, and 1,482 Caspers.
They sold 3,979 Porters and 2,420 Starias, and a total of 2,096 medium and large trucks and buses. The luxury brand Genesis sold a total of 9,060 units, including 2,991 G80s, 2,850 GV80s, and 2,512 GV70s.
