CJ Logistics said on the 2nd that, marking the 30th anniversary of its logistics partnership with Korea Amway, it held a commemorative event, "30 YEARS OF TRUST, Together Towards Tomorrow," on the 30th at Haesley Nine Bridges in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province. The number of Korea Amway parcel items exclusively delivered by CJ Logistics over 30 years totals 110 million.
The two corporations looked back on three decades of cooperation through the event and shared a vision for co-growth. Executives and employees from both companies, including CJ Logistics CEO Shin Young-soo and Korea Amway CEO Shin Eun-ja, attended.
The two corporations signed their first parcel delivery contract in Nov. 1995 and have maintained exclusive delivery for 30 years. CJ Logistics began its delivery coverage in parts of Jeolla and Gyeongsang provinces and expanded it nationwide in 1997 so that Korea Amway consumers across the country could receive products conveniently at any time.
In 2000, they further expanded the scope of collaboration. By operating Korea Amway's "Business & Brand Center" in Jeonju and Gangneung under consignment, they broadened the partnership's reach to product sales and retail operations. The two corporations continued to cooperate on delivery services thereafter. In 2004, they introduced "Time Parcel," which delivers at the customer's desired time in parts of Seoul, and in 2014, they launched next-day delivery to Jeju based on air transport. Starting this year, they introduced the "Maeil One (O-NE)" service.
CJ Logistics CEO Shin Young-soo said, "CJ Logistics will continue to strengthen customers' logistics competitiveness through services based on super-gap technologies such as productivity innovation at logistics hubs, logistics automation, and artificial intelligence (AI), in addition to delivery innovations including 'Maeil One (O-NE).'"
