With domestic semiconductor exports hitting the highest level ever for October, exports rose for the eighth straight month.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy released the October trade figures on the 1st.
Export value in October was $59.57 billion, up 3.6% from the same period a year earlier. It is the highest figure ever for October.
Accordingly, monthly exports maintained a "positive trend" for five consecutive months since June.
Among major export items in October, semiconductor exports rose 25.4% from a year earlier to $15.73 billion, the highest ever for October.
Among major regions, exports to the United States, which are directly affected by the U.S. tariff, fell 16.2% to $8.71 billion.
Exports to China also fell 5.1% from a year earlier to $11.55 billion.
Imports in October were $53.52 billion, down 1.5% from a year earlier. The trade balance recorded a surplus of $6.06 billion.
