Doosan said on the 31st that it is pursuing a strategic collaboration with Nvidia to strengthen physical artificial intelligence (AI). Physical AI refers to applying AI with human-level decision-making capabilities to real-world hardware such as machines or robots so that it can perceive situations on its own and make judgments and act across various work environments. The collaboration areas are construction equipment, power generation equipment, and robots.
Doosan plans to use Nvidia's physical AI models, simulation technology, and AI infrastructure. It will also collaborate on broad-based personnel and technology support.
The collaboration will proceed by training Nvidia's physical AI technology with data held in Doosan's business domains. The ultimate goal is to secure an optimized, customized foundation model (FM). An FM is an AI neural network based on massive datasets, like OpenAI and GPT, and is a model capable of performing a wide range of tasks, including text translation and Robotics.
A Doosan official said, "Nvidia is a company with unrivaled infrastructure and technological prowess in the AI ecosystem. We will strengthen our collaboration with Nvidia going forward to secure a competitive edge in the physical AI sector."
