SK Innovation said on the 30th it plans to appoint Jang Yong-ho as representative director. With this, Jang, the overall president, and representative director Choo Hyeong-wook will establish a co-representative system. SK Innovation plans to appoint Jang as representative director at the regular shareholders meeting in March next year. The move is to ensure he can carry out the strengthening of fundamental competitiveness and improvements to the financial structure without disruption.
SK On, the battery subsidiary of SK Innovation, held a board meeting in the afternoon and appointed SK Siltron representative director Lee Yong-wook as SK On president, establishing a co-representative system alongside incumbent SK On President Lee Seok-hee. Drawing on manufacturing and materials industry expertise built as president of SK Materials and SK Siltron, Lee Yong-wook will oversee overall manufacturing and operations of the battery business. Lee Seok-hee will focus on strengthening customer management and research and development (R&D) technology innovation, centered on North America.
Lee Jong-su, head of the E&S LNG Business Division at SK Innovation, was newly appointed president of SK Innovation E&S CIC (company-in-company). The president plans to accelerate laying the foundation for SK Innovation's electrification business capabilities, including expanding cooperation between existing SK Innovation businesses and the E&S LNG value chain. Through this, Representative Director Choo ended the concurrent role as E&S CIC president.
An SK Innovation official said, "We are conducting follow-up reviews of executive appointments for SK Innovation affiliates excluding SK On," and added, "We plan to make an announcement once decisions are finalized."
