Hanwha Robotics said on the 29th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the domestic artificial intelligence (AI) platform MAUM.AI for cooperation in the physical AI field.
The signing ceremony at MAUM.AI's headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, was attended by Hanwha Robotics CEO Jeong Byung-chan and MAUM.AI CEO Choi Hong-seop.
The two companies agreed to apply MAUM.AI's vision-language-action (VLA) autonomous control model "WAV" to a next-generation Robotics platform and push for commercialization.
The plan is to build a physical AI robot that sees, hears, and judges on its own to take necessary actions.
Hanwha plans to jointly build and use a digital proving ground (DPG) that digitally implements the functions of a test site for product testing. By strengthening demonstration and verification systems, it aims to raise the reliability of physical AI technology and expand its application across various industries including manufacturing, construction, and services.
A Hanwha Robotics official said, "With this agreement, we will be able to showcase physical AI technologies tailored to a variety of industrial sites," adding, "We will continue active collaboration to emerge as a leading physical AI corporations not only in Korea but also in the global robot market."
