Eco-friendly disinfection technology specialist corporations "Biomist Technology" said on the 21st that it will unveil the next-generation eco-friendly book disinfection device "BIO-MASTER X," which is set to lead innovation in the field of records preservation.
Biomist will participate in the 62nd National Library Conference, held from the 22nd to the 24th at the Suwon Convention Center in Gyeonggi Province, and will showcase BIO-MASTER X to domestic library and records preservation officials for the first time in Korea.
Biomist is a Hi Seoul Certified Excellent Company of the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the only corporations to have its eco-friendly sterilization and disinfection new technology certified by the government. It currently supplies eco-friendly disinfection equipment and agents to public institutions in Korea as well as overseas.
The BIO-MASTER X being unveiled this time applies a world-first innovative technology that dramatically shortens the time required to disinfect books and old documents.
Unlike existing disinfection equipment, which took an average of 20 hours to more than 504 hours, BIO-MASTER X completes the disinfection process in five hours. In addition, the disinfection effectiveness of the BIO-MASTER X device is up to seven times higher than existing technologies, drawing attention as a "game changer" in the field of records preservation. A demonstration has also been completed at the Seoul Metropolitan Archives.
A strength of Biomist's new technology applied to BIO-MASTER X is that it is an eco-friendly disinfection method based on plant-derived natural ingredients that is harmless to humans and the environment. Disinfection is carried out without damaging the target items, such as books and old documents, and verification of disinfection effectiveness, material safety, and human safety has been completed by internationally accredited testing institutions.
A Biomist official said, "Our innovative technology will fundamentally improve the records preservation environment," adding, "We expect it will greatly contribute to maximizing the efficiency of library operations and dramatically shortening the time users can access books, thereby significantly enhancing user convenience."
Biomist is also accelerating its push into overseas markets. At the end of October, it will officially exhibit the BIO-MASTER X device at the "International Council on Archives (ICA 2025)," the world's largest event in the records management field and one of UNESCO's three major cultural congresses, to showcase its innovative technology to officials from records and archive institutions around the world. It has already finalized its first export to Oman.
