Jensen Huang, founder of Nvidia, and Matt Garman, chief executive officer (CEO) of Amazon Web Services (AWS), along with more than 1,700 global businesspeople, will converge on Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang, on Oct. 28.
The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry said on Oct. 19 that it will host the 2025 APEC CEO Summit, the largest private economic forum in the Asia-Pacific region, in Gyeongju from Oct. 28 to 31. Chey Tae-won, KORCHAM chairman, will serve as summit chair and oversee everything from the opening remarks to the closing remarks and the chair handover ceremony.
This event will bring together 16 leader-level figures from among the 21 APEC member economies and more than 1,700 global corporations CEOs. In addition to founder Huang and CEO Garman, Simon Kahn, Google Asia-Pacific vice president; Simon Milner, Meta vice president; and Antony Cook and Ulrich Homann, Microsoft (MS) vice presidents, will take the stage as speakers.
From the finance, manufacturing, and energy sectors, attendees will include Jane Fraser, Citigroup CEO; Joaquin Duato, Johnson & Johnson CEO; Daniel Pinto, JPMorgan vice chairman; Omoto Masayuki, Marubeni CEO; Tokunaga Toshiaki, Hitachi CEO; Li Fanrong, Sinochem chairman; Zeng Yuqun, CATL chairman; and David Hill, Deloitte Asia-Pacific CEO.
In addition to major global energy corporations such as Malaysia's Petronas and the United States' TerraPower, Kristalina Georgieva, International Monetary Fund (IMF) managing director; Mathias Cormann, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) secretary-general; and officials from international organizations including the World Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and Asian Development Bank (ADB) are also set to participate.
Under the theme "Bridge, Business, Beyond," they will discuss the issues of the times, including ▲ regional economic integration ▲ artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation ▲ sustainability ▲ finance and investment ▲ bio and health.
Beyond the official program, a Future Tech Forum covering key industries such as artificial intelligence (AI), defense industry, shipbuilding, and digital assets; a K-tech innovation showcase; a wine and traditional liquor fair; a K-beauty and wellness experience zone; and an art exhibition will be held.
