Agricultural machinery corporations TYM said on the 15th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Philippine Center for Agricultural Mechanization to strengthen local parts and service responsiveness.
The agreement was prepared to strengthen the local service and parts supply system and to cultivate technical personnel in the Philippines to improve customer satisfaction and target the Southeast Asian market, including the Philippines. TYM plans to establish an integrated parts and service center in the Philippines by next year and launch a technical training program.
In January next year, TYM will invite engineers from the Philippine Center for Agricultural Mechanization to Korea to conduct training, then finalize the curriculum and expand it to local training. The Philippine Center for Agricultural Mechanization will establish a system in which its personnel retrain local farmers and field engineers, and FitKorea will support TYM in operations and the establishment of the center.
The Philippines has a high dependence on agriculture, but its agricultural mechanization rate is only about 20%, making it a market regarded as having significant growth potential.
The Philippine government is working to expand the supply of agricultural machinery and strengthen educational infrastructure through the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund project. Through this project, TYM has also supplied a cumulative 1,870 tractors.
Kim Ho-gyeom, Deputy Minister of TYM Global Business Headquarters, said, "TYM is building a sustainable cooperation model centered on education and services, going beyond simply exporting tractors," and added, "In the Philippines, a key market in Southeast Asia, we will contribute to improving customer satisfaction, agricultural mechanization, and productivity, and solidify our position in the Southeast Asian market."
