Hanwha Group will provide full support to ensure the success of the "2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit" to be held in Gyeongju at the end of this month.
On the 14th, Hanwha Group said it will participate as an official sponsor of the APEC summit and present a fireworks show and drone show at the gala dinner on the 31st.
At the gala dinner, the highlight of the summit, 50,000 fireworks and more than 2,000 drones will brilliantly fill the night sky of Gyeongju. It will support expenses related to the fireworks event, including the fireworks and drone show, as well as safety and environmental management.
In this performance, in addition to the fireworks show, it plans to portray Korea as a cultural powerhouse that inherits a millennium of Silla tradition and advances into the future through the staging of aerial and maritime drones incorporating information and communication technology (ICT) and media art.
Hanwha has staged fireworks shows at various international events, including the 1986 Asian Games, the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup, the 2005 Busan APEC summit, and the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
It has also safely and successfully hosted the Seoul International Fireworks Festival, held every fall in Yeouido since 2000.
Hanwha will also serve as an official sponsor of the "APEC CEO summit," which brings together leading domestic and overseas corporations' chief executive officers (CEOs) and government officials.
Participating as a diamond sponsor, the highest tier among official sponsors, it will host a future-tech forum in the defense sector and join as a speaker in a CEO summit session.
Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Systems, and Hanwha Ocean, the three defense affiliates, will host "Hanwha Future Tech Forum: Defense Industry" at the Gyeongju National Museum on the 27th.
At the future-tech forum prepared as a side event of the "APEC CEO summit," it plans to showcase the competitiveness of K-defense to domestic and overseas military and defense industry officials.
It will also explore the role of the defense industry and avenues for cooperation for sustainable peace, and discuss the changing global battlefield environment and the direction of future technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) in the defense sector.
Qcells will deliver a keynote speech during a CEO summit session on the theme of "eco-friendly energy for sustainable growth."
At the event, Qcells plans to introduce energy optimization technology based on operating agentic AI through data standardization, together with Microsoft.
A Hanwha Group official said, "Inside the Gyeongju Arts Center, the venue for the CEO summit, we will install a kiosk introducing Hanwha's vision, technologies, and solutions for a sustainable future to raise awareness of Hanwha among leaders, CEOs, session speakers, and other participants visiting the venue."
