A U.S. court has ruled that Samsung Electronics infringed a U.S. company's wireless patents and must pay 630 billion won in damages.
According to Reuters on the 10th (local time), a jury at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on the day ordered Samsung Electronics to pay $445.5 million (about 638.1 billion won) to patent holder Collision Communications.
Collision Communications is a company that holds patents related to improving wireless network efficiency. Earlier, in 2023, Collision Communications filed a lawsuit, saying Samsung Electronics infringed its patents.
The jury found that products with wireless functions, including Samsung's laptop computers and Galaxy smartphones, infringed four of Collision Communications' patents.
