Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications specialist Ettifos said on 2nd that it raised a Series B investment from LIG Nex1 on 30th. With this investment, Ettifos, which secured a total of 17 billion won in the Series B round finalized at the end of Jul., further strengthened its foundation for strategic cooperation with a major defense company.
This round included LB Investment, L&S Venture Capital, Kyobo Securities, KR Ventures, Medici Investment·IBK Capital, BNK Venture Investment, Evergreen Investment Partners, STIC Ventures, and SL Investment. In particular, participation by the defense innovation fund created by LIG Nex1 and IBKC carries strategic significance aimed at technology development and commercialization in new growth areas such as localization of communication modem semiconductors.
With this fundraising as a turning point, Ettifos plans to expand research and development (R&D) cooperation in the communications semiconductor field, where there is demand across industries, and seek new growth opportunities through ICT convergence and the advancement of communications technology. The secured funds will be invested in ▲ mass production of C-V2X HW accelerator semiconductors ▲ development of next-generation V2X-AIR devices ▲ securing global production bases ▲ entry into new markets through localization of communication modem semiconductors.
In particular, it recently unveiled the ESAC (Ettifos SIRIUS Accelerator Chip), developed on a Samsung Foundry basis, and is preparing for full-scale mass production of hardware accelerators (ASIC) dedicated to 5G-V2X and LTE-V2X modems. ESAC completed packaging in Sep. and will showcase modules and prototypes within the year, before expanding to commercial products such as roadside units (RSU) in early 2026. Centering on ESAC, Ettifos plans to actively respond to various equipment such as onboard units (OBU) and roadside units (RSU) and to global market demand.
An LIG Nex1 official said, "This investment is to lead the advancement of communications technology with Ettifos, which has strong capabilities in ICT convergence technologies, and to create new market opportunities."
Ettifos plans to use this fundraising to strengthen its collaboration network with communications demand corporations and leap forward as a global fabless semiconductor company.
