Hyundai Motor on the 29th added a value-packed "S" trim to the model-year change model "2026 Sonata The Edge." The "S" trim is a trim that selectively includes specifications that are highly preferred by buyers.
The S trim is based on the entry trim "Premium" and makes a 12.3-inch cluster/navigation, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist (forward exit), highway driving assist, front-row ventilated seats, and dual full-auto air conditioning standard to increase customer satisfaction.
Hyundai Motor makes front collision-avoidance assist (intersection/oncoming vehicle), smart cruise control (including stop-and-go), an ECM rearview mirror, and trunk lid illumination standard on the Premium trim of the 2026 Sonata The Edge to provide a more convenient vehicle experience.
Also, the main trim "Exclusive" makes remote smart parking assist, a surround-view monitor, a blind-spot view monitor, side parking distance warning, and rear parking collision-avoidance assist standard as convenience and safety features, and the top trim "Inspiration" adds a sense of luxury by making Nappa leather seats and metal pedals standard.
In addition, Hyundai Motor made the "display themes," which allow customers to change the cluster and infotainment design, available for purchase through the BlueLink store, and newly introduced the "Sonata 40th anniversary display theme," which features past Sonata models.
The 2026 Sonata The Edge pricing for the Smartstream gasoline 2.0 model is Premium 28,260,000 won, S 29,560,000 won, Exclusive 32,600,000 won, and Inspiration 35,490,000 won, and for the 1.6 turbo model it is Premium 28,920,000 won, S 30,220,000 won, Exclusive 33,260,000 won, Inspiration 36,150,000 won, and N Line 36,740,000 won.
For the 2026 Sonata The Edge hybrid, based on tax benefit reflections, it is Premium 32,700,000 won, S 33,710,000 won, Exclusive 36,740,000 won, and Inspiration 39,790,000 won. (※special consumption tax 3.5% applied)
Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor prepared various marketing campaigns and purchase benefits to coincide with the launch of the 2026 Sonata The Edge.
Hyundai Motor will run a digital campaign from the 29th called "ONATA's legend is back," removing the S from SONATA. This video was inspired by a late-1990s social phenomenon in which a rumor that keeping the Sonata emblem "S" would help one get into a desired university spread like wildfire; it expresses the hope that all the "S" customers want will come true and symbolically showcases the newly added S trim.
Also, Hyundai Motor will offer a "warranty plus" that extends the warranty period by lottery to customers who sign a contract for the 2026 Sonata The Edge hybrid between Sept. 29 and Oct. 31.
