Hanwha said on the 28th that it successfully wrapped up the Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2025.
Marking its 21st year, the Seoul International Fireworks Festival featured fireworks teams from three countries, including Korea, Italy and Canada.
About 1 million people packed the area around Yeouido Hangang Park in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, where the festival was held.
A live broadcast on Hanwha Group's official YouTube channel, "HanwhaTV," drew as many as 240,000 concurrent viewers and logged a total of 2.18 million views.
Ahead of the festival, Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-yeon urged the team to stage it "higher and bigger" so more citizens could enjoy the fireworks festival.
This was intended to ease the concentration of spectators around Yeouido and allow them to enjoy it in a wider space, Hanwha Group said.
Accordingly, the participating teams expanded the stage, centering on Wonhyo Bridge, to the sections of Mapo Bridge (west) and Hangang Railroad Bridge (east) and presented their show.
Given the massive crowds, Hanwha organized about 3,700 personnel for order maintenance, including an employee volunteer group, professional safety staff and operations staff, and made thorough preparations for safety management.
