LS Group said on the 28th that it held LS Future Day to share the group's preparations for the future and its innovation capabilities.
This LS Future Day was held on the 26th at LS Tower in Anyang, Gyeonggi. Now in its fourth year, LS Future Day ran under the theme of "a world reshaped by power."
About 200 executives and employees, including Chairman Koo Ja-eun of LS Group, chief executive officers (CEOs) of each affiliate, and chief operating officers (COOs), attended the event.
At LS Future Day, ideas for new businesses and best cases of research and development performance were shared, and outstanding achievements were recognized with awards.
Twenty projects from each company were presented, including the development of cables for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers and the establishment of sensor solutions based on quantum technology.
In a pep talk that day, Chairman Koo said, "The world order is changing dramatically, with deglobalization by major powers and countries prioritizing themselves," adding, "We know from history that, depending on how we respond in such times, the success or collapse of corporations is decided."
Koo cited the Plaza Accord and the IMF foreign exchange crisis as examples of changes in the world order. The Plaza Accord was a 1985 agreement in which the United States, to resolve its trade deficit, sacrificed the Japanese yen and the German mark.
Koo said, "In the new industrial order, LS's success or failure also hinges on the present." He added, "Excellent ideas shared at LS Future Day that incorporate AI and quantum technology will serve as a milestone that seizes opportunities and rides the wave into the future amid changes in the new international landscape."
He also said, "Do not fear the uncertain future before us. Talent that responds proactively to a change of era—that is the futurist LS needs now."
In addition, this LS Future Day invited experts including Park Jong-hun, head of the Institute for Knowledge Economy, and Choi Jun-young, a senior adviser at the law firm Yulchon, to deliver lectures on the themes of "a world order changed by the logic of power" and "survival rules for Korean corporations."
