GS Global donated training vehicles to nurture talent that will lead the future automotive industry.
GS Global said on the 26th that it donated one BYD 1-ton electric truck "T4K" each to the Department of Future Automotive Engineering at Yeoju University and the Department of Future Automotive Studies at Daelim University.
The donated vehicles will be used as practical teaching materials at both universities, providing an educational environment where students can gain hands-on experience by directly maintaining and operating eco-friendly electric trucks. For Yeoju University, the donation was a "T4K high enclosed box truck," and for Daelim University it was a "T4K refrigerated box truck," both models equipped with an 82kWh battery to provide zero-emission driving and environmentally friendly performance suitable for urban logistics.
At the donation ceremony held that day at Yeoju University, the event was attended by GS Global electric truck Head of Team Cheon Kwon-yoon and advisor Lee Yun-dong, Yeoju University Department of Future Automotive Engineering chairman Choi Wan-mook and Professor Kim Jung-gyu, who shared the significance of the donation. In the afternoon, a separate donation ceremony was held at Daelim University, attended by Daelim University vice president for external affairs Professor Kim Pil-su and Department of Future Automotive Studies dean Lee Jung-ho.
GS Global Head of Team Cheon Kwon-yoon said the donated vehicles, he hopes, will help train talent to lead future eco-friendly mobility, and said the company will continue to prepare support methods that can provide practical help to educational sites.
Starting with this donation, GS Global plans to sequentially deliver vehicles to major automotive-related departments nationwide in October, including Gyeonggi Automotive Science High School, Inha Technical College, and Korea Polytechnics, contributing to the cultivation of skilled personnel and the expansion of maintenance technology. Vehicles to be donated in the future will include a variety of models such as cargo, refrigerated box trucks, and wing body (coffee truck).
