On the 26th, Chung delivered congratulatory remarks at the "SME AX Leaders Forum," held at the Shilla Hotel in Jangchung-dong, Seoul, under the theme "Turning crisis into opportunity, innovation into the future," and made these points.
The "SME AX Leaders Forum" is a forum in the small and medium-sized venture field first hosted by ChosunBiz, the economic news outlet of the Chosun Media Group. With participation from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups as well as its affiliated agencies, SME CEOs, and AI experts, the forum diagnoses the current crisis facing small and medium-sized enterprises and discusses AX strategies to drive innovation. SME is the English abbreviation for Small and Medium Enterprise, meaning small and medium-sized enterprises.
In his congratulatory remarks at the forum that day, Chung said, "While our small and medium-sized venture companies have gone through countless crises, they have always forged new paths," but noted, "On the ground, it is still difficult to find talent, technology development requires enormous expense, and global competition is getting ever more intense."
Chung went on to emphasize, "Now, beyond digital transformation, AI-based innovation, the so-called AX, is the key to growth in a new era," adding, "Today's event is more meaningful not merely for sketching out the future, but as a venue to discuss strategies and solutions that can be felt in the field."
Chung also underscored the role of the National Assembly. Chung said, "To respond to this situation, we are continuing to study relentlessly within the National Assembly," adding, "Going forward, the National Assembly will work with the government to establish legal and institutional foundations so that small and medium-sized venture companies can benefit evenly from AI innovation."
He also emphasized a range of policies to support the growth of small and medium-sized venture companies. Chung said, "We will strengthen systems that can protect against technology theft, mechanisms that block unfair market practices, an investment environment that enables bold innovation, and policies that back young talent to work at small and medium-sized enterprises."
