Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) said on the 26th that it will supply original equipment tires for BMW's first midsize all-electric gran coupe, the "new i4."
The new i4 is a facelifted version of the first-generation i4 released in 2022, featuring BMW's fifth-generation electric powertrain system that improves both driving performance and efficiency.
Hankook Tire will supply two "iON" tires dedicated to electric vehicles for the new i4. The 19-inch specification will use the "iON Supreme," and the 20-inch specification will use the "iON Evo."
Hankook Tire said it succeeded in developing dedicated tires optimized for high-performance electric vehicles by leveraging the technologies gained during the original equipment supply process for the first-generation model through its collaboration with BMW.
In addition to the new i4, Hankook Tire is supplying original equipment tires for BMW's midsize Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) "new X3," the electric flagship sport-utility vehicle (SUV) "iX," and the seventh-generation model of the high-performance sedan "M5."
