Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, when more vehicles hit the road for long-distance trips to visit family, Peugeot's "Smart Hybrid" lineup, known for high efficiency, is drawing consumer attention.
Peugeot's Smart Hybrid system can drive half of urban sections using only the electric motor. Because there is almost no gap among urban, highway, and combined fuel economy, it offers greater advantages across mixed driving conditions, from commutes to long-distance holiday travel. It is also certified in Korea as a type-2 low-emission vehicle, qualifying for discounts at public parking lots and reduced congestion tolls.
Peugeot's Smart Hybrid lineup consists of three compact models: the 308 hatchback, the 408 crossover sedan, and the 3008 fastback SUV.
Launched in Korea on Apr. 4th, the Peugeot 308 Smart Hybrid preserves the appeal of a classic hatchback while adding a host of differentiated premium features. Compared with peers in its class, it offers a spacious cabin and cargo area and is also praised for its quiet ride.
The interior emphasizes a driver-centered layout. The i-Cockpit cluster, unobstructed by the steering wheel, uses a 3D display to create a distinct ambiance. The intuitive i-Toggle interface enhances ease of use. Alcantara bucket seats and a massage function are also applied.
The 408 Smart Hybrid is a crossover sedan combining the comfort of a sedan, the practicality of an SUV, and the elegance of a coupe. Its exterior delivers a strong impression with a fastback silhouette and sharp character lines.
Inside, it comes with upscale features such as Nappa leather seats, massage seats, and a Clean Cabin (air purification) function. Convenience and safety features such as full LED matrix headlamps and a 360-degree panoramic camera are also applied.
The all-new 3008 Smart Hybrid, unveiled after a full redesign in 8 years, is considered the core of Peugeot's SUV lineup. The exterior achieves both luxury and dynamism with a fastback roofline and sculpted surface design.
Inside, the 21-inch panoramic curved display and panoramic i-Cockpit interior stand out. Virtual i-Toggles, ventilated and massage seats, and an 8-color ambient LED light setup deliver a premium feel on par with luxury cars.
On top of that, the hybrid-dedicated e-DCS6 transmission and regenerative braking system deliver efficiency comparable to a full hybrid.
