Chair Jang In-hwa of POSCO Group said at a gathering of all executives from across the group's subsidiaries that "we must have a sense of urgency so that technology can become the key to opening the future of POSCO Group as a world-class corporations."
According to POSCO Group on the 22nd, Jang said this at the 2025 POSCO Forum held that morning at the POSCO Songdo Global R&D Center, adding, "Do not be trapped by the existing ways of success."
Jang also said, "We must read the future a step ahead and lead industrial change to create sustainable growth." Jang on this day also emphasized safety management.
Jang said, "We will humbly accept the findings of safety diagnostics so that members can creatively deliver results in a safe workplace, and we will fundamentally eliminate risks," adding, "We will create a model case of 'K-safety.'"
Marking its seventh year, the POSCO Forum is a venue where all executives across the group participate to assess the internal and external environment of the group's businesses and discuss plans for the group's growth and innovation.
This forum will run for two days starting today under the theme "In an age of great transition, what makes the future." The keynote lecture was given by Andrew McAfee, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management.
Professor McAfee introduces the evolution of society, the economy, and industry following the technological revolution and proposes growth strategies for corporations amid the transition of the latest technological innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), robots, and quantum mechanics.
In addition, to gain macro and long-term insights related to politics, the economy, and society at large, expert lectures and discussions, technology demonstrations, and talks have been prepared under three topics: new mobility, AI transition, and energy.
POSCO Group is encouraging the development of technologies that drive sustainable growth and strengthening links among business strategies through the POSCO Forum, the Group Technology Strategy Meeting chaired directly by Jang, and the POSCO Group Tech Forum.
