LOTTE Global Logistics said on the 22nd that it has built and begun operating an automated fulfillment center in the Dallas–Fort Worth area of Texas in partnership with iHerb, a U.S. health supplements sales platform.
The newly built center spans more than 20,000 square meters (6,500 pyeong) and can process up to 20,000 orders a day. The center plans to cover transport across the U.S. Midwest and into Mexico. LOTTE Global Logistics also expects logistics synergies with its U.S. subsidiary in Dallas, Texas.
The center incorporates LOTTE Global Logistics' robotics technology and an artificial intelligence (AI)-based operating system. By introducing autonomous mobile robots, autonomous case-handling robots, and automated racks, it enables accurate and rapid inbound and outbound processing even for health supplements produced in small quantities across many SKUs.
All automated equipment is operated through a warehouse management system and warehouse automation control system designed by LOTTE Global Logistics. In addition, the company's infrastructure and operational know-how are applied to every process at the center, including receiving, inspection, storage, packing, and shipping.
LOTTE Global Logistics expects this fulfillment center, which combines its logistics capabilities and technology, to become a new market standard. The company plans to secure new local shippers and continue expanding its logistics centers and infrastructure network.
