Korea SMEs & Startups Institute (KOSI) said on the 18th that it will host a symposium to verify the outcomes of small and midsize business support policies through data-based empirical analysis and to seek strategies for a future-oriented policy shift.
The symposium, themed "Exploring policy outcomes and growth strategies for small and midsize businesses," will be held on the 24th at Lunamiele in Yeouido, Seoul. It will assess the effectiveness of small and midsize business support policies and discuss ways to build a sustainable growth-oriented support system.
The event will begin with opening remarks by Cho Ju-hyeon, president of the Korea SMEs & Startups Institute (KOSI), followed by a presentation by Research Fellow Choi Se-gyeong on "Why growth for small and midsize businesses? A survey of growth paths for small and midsize businesses and an analysis of government support effects." Professor Lee Seung-hun of Yonsei University is scheduled to present "An impact evaluation of small and midsize business policy support using large-scale economic shocks."
The general discussion will be chaired by Professor Park Ji-hyeong of Seoul National University. Professor Noh Yong-hwan of Seoul Women's University, Legislative Research Officer Park Chung-ryeol of the National Assembly Research Service, and Research Fellow Kang Jae-won of the Korea SMEs & Startups Institute (KOSI) will join as discussants to continue in-depth deliberations.
