Woo Oh-hyun of SM Group received a plaque of appreciation from the Korea Defense Veterans Association (KDVA).
According to SM Group on the 18th, Woo received the plaque of appreciation at a roundtable held on the 17th at the Westin Josun Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, co-hosted by the Korea-U.S. Alliance Foundation and KDVA.
KDVA and the foundation presented the plaque of appreciation in recognition of Woo's contributions to Korea-U.S. friendship diplomacy and the development of the alliance.
Woo has donated 100 million won each year to the Korea-U.S. Alliance Foundation and made generous contributions to encourage current and former service members, including the Korea Defense Veterans Association, and this was recognized.
At the roundtable, Woo said, "The firm security built on the roots of the Korea-U.S. alliance is the foundation for corporations from the Republic of Korea to expand their economic and industrial footprint around the world," adding, "We will continue to identify and carry out various social responsibilities that corporations can take on in the fields of defense and security."
About 50 people attended the roundtable, including Woo; Robert Abrams, president of the Korea Defense Veterans Association; Lim Ho-young, chair of the Korea-U.S. Alliance Foundation; and Yu Myung-hwan, former Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
