Michelin Korea (CEO Jerome Bangsong)'s tire and auto maintenance service network "TireMore" and low-voltage battery global corporation "ClariosDelco" signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 17th for battery supply.
The two companies held a signing ceremony for the agreement on Sept. 17 at Michelin Korea's headquarters in Songpa-gu, Seoul, with key executives including Michelin Korea CEO Jerome Bangsong and ClariosDelco CEO Won Seok-jun in attendance.
TireMore is a one-stop tire and auto maintenance service network operated by the Michelin Group, with about 7,000 stores worldwide. When customers visit a TireMore store, they can receive tire mounting from several brands including Michelin and professional maintenance services along with premium maintenance services for vehicle care such as oil, battery, and brake pads all at once. TireMore has been steadily expanding its stores since launching its domestic franchise business in January.
Under this agreement, TireMore dealerships nationwide will install and sell genuine VARTA Silver AGM batteries supplied by official battery partner ClariosDelco when a battery replacement is needed during a customer's vehicle inspection.
VARTA is a high-performance battery brand with a 130-year history that began in Germany, and it is installed in new cars by many imported car makers such as Porsche and Bentley among high-end luxury brands, and Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, and Volkswagen. VARTA batteries are installed in six out of 10 stop-and-go (ISG) vehicles produced in Europe, and its flagship product Silver Dynamic AGM is a premium solution with robust design and reliability to meet the high power demands of stop-and-go vehicles. VARTA is a brand under Clarios, the world's No. 1 company for vehicle low-voltage batteries.
Jerome Vincon, Michelin Korea CEO, said he was pleased that the agreement will allow TireMore customers to be offered ClariosDelco's high-quality battery products, and said TireMore is seeking collaboration opportunities with various domestic and global brands to provide differentiated services with premium vehicle parts and products, and is doing its best to establish itself as a tire and auto maintenance service network that customers can trust and visit.
Won Seok-jun, CEO of ClariosDelco LLC, said the MOU is a very meaningful opportunity to provide new experiences to customers seeking premium value, and said the company will do its best to maximize customer satisfaction based on world-class battery technology and brand value.
