Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) specialist Ettifos said on the 16th that it obtained next-generation intelligent transport system (C-ITS) certification from the ITS KOREA.
By adding certification for the onboard unit (OBU) following its already certified lightweight OBU, the aftermarket V2X device (Aftermarket V2X Device·AVD), and the roadside unit (RSU), Ettifos has secured national certification for all of its products.
The C-ITS certification system verifies the interoperability and performance of V2X communication equipment applied in major projects such as domestic C-ITS projects, autonomous driving projects, and smart city projects. Through this certification, Ettifos has secured a lineup of V2X products that can be supplied immediately to domestic projects.
Park Yong-tae, Ettifos chief technology officer, who led the certification, said, "Obtaining C-ITS certification for the entire product lineup proves Ettifos's technological strength and quality competitiveness," and added, "We will focus on expanding overseas business by quickly securing various national certifications, including OmniAir, a global certification."
With this C-ITS certification for all of its products as a turning point, Ettifos plans to expand orders for C-ITS projects and for building autonomous driving and smart city infrastructure in collaboration with domestic system integrators, and, on that basis, strengthen its position as a global V2X solutions provider in markets such as the United States, the Middle East, and Asia.
