At the GS Caltex Incheon logistics center, a partner company employee died after falling while preparing for work.
According to GS Caltex on the 14th, at about 12:50 p.m. on the 12th, a partner company employee in his 60s, identified as A, fell and was taken to a hospital but ultimately died.
A is believed to have fallen and hit the head on the floor while preparing for afternoon work during the lunch break.
GS Caltex said it reported the incident to the relevant authorities immediately after it occurred and took follow-up measures, and it is currently conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause.
GS Caltex said, "We are actively cooperating with the relevant authorities' investigation and have fully suspended similar work. Along with a thorough determination of the cause of this incident, we will comprehensively reexamine our safety management system, make every effort to prevent a recurrence, and further strengthen our safety management framework."
It added, "We pray for the deceased and extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family. We express deep regret and apologize for the heartbreaking accident involving a worker who was working at our business sites."
