The Ministry of SMEs and Startups said it will hold a large-scale local event, the "Ulsan Traditional Market·Small Business Festa," at the Taehwagang Sports Park in Seongnam-dong, Ulsan from Sept. 12 to 14 to mark the September Companion Festival.
The "Ulsan Traditional Market·Small Business Festa" is a large-scale sales fair that offers citizens the fun of grocery shopping by selling a variety of foods, household goods, and fruits from local traditional market merchants and small business owners at discounts of up to 30%.
In particular, it has been organized as a festival where traditional markets, small business owners, and citizens come together by arranging citizen-participation cultural events such as a children's choir competition, an office worker band performance, and a senior fashion show. Prizes will be given to the first 300 people on a first-come, first-served basis, and events will also be held to give away items such as K League admission tickets based on purchase amounts.
Meanwhile, Vice Minister Noh Yong-seok visited Haewoldang, a local company in Ulsan, on the 12th to hear about its growth secrets and listen to difficulties. Afterward, he visited the "Ulsan Traditional Market·Small Business Festa" venue, toured places such as Hakseong Dawn Market, which is holding a time sale of up to 50% off fruits, and "Jeonggam Studio," which sells handicrafts embodying local cultural heritage such as the Banguchheon petroglyphs, and encouraged traditional market merchants and small business owners.
Vice Minister Noh said, "If your spending comes together through the Companion Festival, it will greatly support our families and neighbors and, furthermore, make this autumn of harvest one that energizes small business owners and the local economy," asking for strong interest in the September Companion Festival.
