BYD Korea said it has begun customer deliveries of its battery electric mid-size SUV BYD Sealion 7 (BYD SEALION 7).
The first delivery ceremony for the BYD Sealion 7 was held on the 10th at the Dongnae showroom in Busan, and I Yeon-shin, who resides in Jin-gu, Busan, received the vehicle as the nation's first customer. I said the Sealion 7 was a model she had been especially looking forward to among the offerings from BYD, the world's No. 1 electric vehicle brand, and said she was very honored and pleased to be the nation's first customer.
The BYD Sealion 7 is BYD Korea's third passenger model introduced to the Korea market. It was launched in Korea first worldwide with the latest specifications reflecting the 2026 model year change. With meticulous finishes and standard features rare for its class, it offers excellent product appeal and competitiveness.
It adopts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 SoC (System on Chip) that integrates an octa-core CPU and a 6th-generation GPU, frequency-variable damping suspension, a camera-based driver monitoring system, a panoramic glass roof with an area of 2.1m2, a 50W wireless charging and cooling pad, and a 15.6-inch display, among other advanced technologies and premium features.
The interior is designed to feel sensuous and luxurious within a spacious, comfortable atmosphere. With a wheelbase of 2,930 mm, one of the largest in its class, it provides headroom and legroom sufficient for five adults, and the ergonomically designed integrated headrest sport seats deliver a stable feel. Including perforated quilting, even the seatbacks, which are usually exposed plastic, are finished in vegan leather to further enhance the upscale image.
The BYD Sealion 7 comes standard with a range of advanced driver-assistance safety systems. These include adaptive cruise control that calculates distance and speed relative to the vehicle ahead to maintain a safe distance, lane departure steering assist, rear cross-traffic collision braking assist, front cross-traffic collision braking assist, and a 3D surround view monitor that lets drivers check the vehicle's surroundings 360 degrees, all of which enhance driver safety and convenience.
Equipped with an 82kWh BYD Blade battery, the BYD Sealion 7 has an officially certified domestic single-charge driving range of 398 km (combined) under the Ministry of Environment standard, and a low-temperature single-charge driving range of 385 km (combined), achieving 96.7% of the room-temperature range, offering reliable driving distance even in cold seasons.
BYD Korea will proactively provide an estimated portion of the national subsidy of 1.8 million won to minimize inconvenience and burden for customers who have been waiting for the BYD Sealion 7. This enables rapid deliveries even before the final calculation of the national subsidy is completed. BYD Korea plans to cover any additional difference that arises after the national subsidy is finalized. The BYD Sealion 7's manufacturer's suggested retail price is 44.9 million won (after environmentally friendly vehicle tax benefits, excluding electric vehicle subsidies).
Jo In-cheol, head of passenger vehicle institutional sector at BYD Korea, said he is pleased to introduce all three models promised at the brand's launch — the compact SUV Atto 3 (ATTO 3), the mid-size sedan Seal (SEAL), and now the mid-size SUV Sealion 7 (SEALION 7) — to the domestic market. He added that he hopes BYD's product lineup will contribute more to the activation of eco-friendly mobility in Korea.
Meanwhile, BYD Korea operates 21 official BYD passenger car showrooms and 14 service centers in major cities nationwide, and plans to increase showrooms to 30 and service centers to more than 25 by the end of the year. At the same time, by continuously building a dense and strategic nationwide network, it plans to provide an optimal sales and after-sales service environment so customers can use their vehicles with confidence after purchase.
